Why it's important to select the correct vehicle and tyre size
Vehicle
There are a surprising number of vehicles that cannot use traditional snowchains, the types that put chain on the inside of the wheel as well as on the tread. This is usually because there is not enough space between the wheels and the shock absorbers; this can be a problem for ordinary SUVs and 4x4s as well as for high performance cars.
You will find this important information in your car handbook - please check this before using your snowchains! Our database is intended to do the basic work for you but, with so many new vehicles and tyre sizes, it should only ever be treated as a guide.
Tyre size
Please also check your tyre size - if you buy incorrectly-sized chains they will be either too tight or too loose.
Ladder track chains
The good news is that car handbooks usually only refer to "traditional snowchains". Ladder track chains such as the Polaire GRIP and Spikes-Spider range only put chain over the tyre tread, so are not subject to these restrictions. They are also ideal for use on rear wheel drives where there is minimal space between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch.

Carbox YourSize - how to choose
The Carbox YourSize is a range of rigid high-sided bootliners that you choose (1) by the minimum width of your car boot (there are 4 width options) and then (2) by length, either fitting behind the rear seats or else sliding over the folded rear seats - there are 13 length options.
Every YourSize has straight sides so is particularly easy to slide in and out. Some people may wish to use the same YourSize in more than one car, or to choose one that's also likely to fit in their next car.
Mobile users: Due to a quirk with our software it is not possible at the moment to view the YourSize range, or to order, from a mobile or a tablet; you'll need to use a laptop or desktop. We are working on a solution and hope to have this in place soon. Our apologies.

Carbox's high-sided bootliners, the Carbox Classic range, protect much more of the vehicle boot space than a low-sided liner can ever do. This is not only because of their height - up to 43cm - but because their rigid sides and fatter 'top lip' will hold your load away from the rear seat and side carpets. They are a perfect fit, following the contours of a vehicle's boot space, but the downside is that they only fit in the vehicle they were designed for.
The Carbox YourSize is made from the same material and to the same exacting standards as a Carbox Classic but, because it's straight-sided, is particularly easy to fit and remove, and it also has the potential for use in many vehicles. And, because it's not a made-to-measure product, it's also considerably cheaper.
Just as you need to wear different clothes for different jobs if you're going to do them sensibly - you don't wear your work suit for gardening or DIY or in the gym - so it is with your car, which arrives in its best clothes. You can fit seat covers to protect the seats from humans and animals, but it's the load carrying area that's probably most vulnerable to damage. This is where a Carbox YourSize makes sense, to enable you not only to protect your car but to make fuller use of it, to open up new opportunities for using a smart vehicle for ordinary household tasks, without risk of damage.
You may be moving garden rubbish - wet, dirty and with unknown creepy crawlies - or building waste, or collecting DIY materials, or you may be a tradesman who uses the same vehicle for work and family use. This is where the Carbox YourSize really makes sense - to use whenever needed, making better use of your car with only the minimum risk of damage.
YourSize are lower at the tailgate end (10cm high) to make for easy loading and unloading.
As with all Carbox products, YourSize come with a 10 year warranty for materials and build quality.
How to choose the correct width: - The four widths reflect the external dimensions at the widest point of the YourSize, which is at 33cm, the height of every YourSize.
- You'll need first of all to measure the narrowest point of your boot at 33cm, and identify the provisional width.
- Then you measure the narrowest point at boot floor level - if this is more than 6cm less than your provisional YourSize width, you'll need to drop down one size, because the width of a YourSize base is 6cm less than a YourSize top. For example, a 106cm YourSize has a base of 100cm.
For example: - If you measured the narrowest point at 33cm at 107cm, then a 106cm wide YourSize is your provisional choice;
- if the narrowest point at floor level is 103cm, the 'YourSize 106' will fit;
- if the narrowest point at floor level is 99cm, a 106cm wide YourSize will not fit, because its base is 1cm too wide.
YourSize: You may decide to choose a narrower model so that it also fits in a second vehicle.

Delivery FAQs
When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.
What about Next Working Day delivery?
Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next working day, if the order is placed before the cut-off time (see above). Some will arrive on the second working day if there has been a "split-delivery". So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.
Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.
Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.
