Why would you need to use a tow bar cargo box?

A great option for EVs, but equally suited to normal cars. Modern roof boxes are very aerodynamic, but anything sitting on the roof will create a certain amount of drag. Tests have shown that a tow bar cargo carrier has a limited impact on battery or fuel consumption. In some cases it even decreased it (perhaps the cargo box reduced turbulence behind some cars?)

You can't use a roof box. There are some cars where you are not able to fit roof bars or carry a load on the roof. Or perhaps your roof is already loaded up with a roof tent, kayaks or bikes? If you can fit a tow bar, the Arcos is an ideal solution.

You have bulky gear that would be awkward to load in a roof box The Arcos box sits low to the ground, at a really convenient height for loading and unloading. You'll find it much easier to load something like a pushchair into a cargo box on the tow bar, especially on taller vehicles.

You need to keep the height of the vehicle down. Perhaps you are going on a ferry with a height limit, or need to use a car park with a low-height barrier, or want to drive straight into your garage? The Arcos doesn't add any additional height, so you won't have a problem doing any of these things.

• Because it sits low The Arcos won't obscure the view through the rear view mirror.
• It uses the 'SlideLock' locking system; this automatically locks the lid in place and red indicator tabs let you know that the box is securely closed.
• The hard-shell exterior will protect your gear from the elements.
• It includes 5 function integrated lights, including a reversing light and a fog light, with a 13 pin plug. We will include a 7 pin to 13 pin adapter free of charge - note that if your vehicle only has 7 pin electrics the fog light will work, but the reversing light won't work.
• The Arcos box only fits to the Arcos platform; the platform is also pre-ticked in the list below, so please be sure to order it. The separate components make for easier fitting; as well as the significant reduction in weight it's very much easier to fit the frame to the tow bar without the cargo box getting in the way.

Delivery FAQs

When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.

What about Next Working Day delivery?
Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next working day, if the order is placed before the cut-off time (see above). Some will arrive on the second working day if there has been a "split-delivery". So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.

Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.

Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.
