Why it's important to select the correct vehicle and tyre size
Vehicle
There are a surprising number of vehicles that cannot use traditional snowchains, the types that put chain on the inside of the wheel as well as on the tread. This is usually because there is not enough space between the wheels and the shock absorbers; this can be a problem for ordinary SUVs and 4x4s as well as for high performance cars.
You will find this important information in your car handbook - please check this before using your snowchains! Our database is intended to do the basic work for you but, with so many new vehicles and tyre sizes, it should only ever be treated as a guide.
Tyre size
Please also check your tyre size - if you buy incorrectly-sized chains they will be either too tight or too loose.
Ladder track chains
The good news is that car handbooks usually only refer to "traditional snowchains". Ladder track chains such as the Polaire GRIP and Spikes-Spider range only put chain over the tyre tread, so are not subject to these restrictions. They are also ideal for use on rear wheel drives where there is minimal space between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch.
It's really important to select the correct vehicle, paying attention to the year of the manufacture

Packline have been manufacturing roof boxes since the 80s. Years of ongoing product development has resulted in a new generation of roof boxes, incorporating the very best in roof box design and functionality.
They are manufactured from a fibreglass-reinforced polyester with embedded metal reinforcements, giving them ultimate stability.
Packline have been manufacturing roof boxes since 1982. They only make roof boxes and have made it their mission to make the best! These boxes are very popular in Scandinavian countries where people leave their roof box on the car all the time, so they are designed to blend in with the lines of the car and look great all year round. The NX series is their new, award-winning range of boxes. As well as having a sleek, aerodynamic, elegant design these state-of-the-art boxes are packed full of innovative features.
What makes them so different? Two-fold fibreglass - most roof boxes are made from a single layer of plastic, the Packline NX Premium is made from fibreglass with two-fold sides and base to massively improve the rigidity of the box. This results in a very solid construction and a box that is significantly more stable than it's rivals. The base and lid are so still and strong that there's no need for the lid to overlap to the base to provide the necessary rigidity for safe high-speed driving. It also means that the rivets and external fittings are concealed inside the outer shell giving a much sleeker, more aerodynamic finish. The fibreglass has a high-gloss, polished surface which gives the box a superb glossy-white finish. Unique opening system - unlike most rear opening boxes the two-point lock is accessed from the side, so it's much easier to reach and open. This gives you the benefits of a rear opening box (i.e. the ability to load from the side and rear of the car) with a lock that is easy to reach on all cars. Design - these boxes are not made to stand out. Instead their low-profile design appears to blend in with the lines of your car. As well as looking great these boxes are seriously smooth and quiet when they are on the roof. It's easy to see why so many of them are left on the car all year round. Their increased rigidity ensures a much better seal between the lid and base and seals inside the box ensure unparalleled waterproofing.
Other features and general information:

Delivery FAQs
When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.
What about Next Working Day delivery?
Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next working day, if the order is placed before the cut-off time (see above). Some will arrive on the second working day if there has been a "split-delivery". So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.
Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.
Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.
