YAKIMA is one of the world's premier roof rack brands
They're an American brand, not a Japanese one as some people assume - they started making racks in 1973 in the city of Yakima, Washington state, and now have bases in Portland and in Brisbane Australia, with distributors worldwide, including in many European countries.
Their motto is Take it Easy, a play on words for sure, and in real life only possible if the gear they sell is really good, which means well-designed, well-engineered, easy to use; it is!
They're innovators, especially in recent years in the categories of pickup racks, load platforms and kayak and boat carriers. The particular demands of the Australian Outback are the inspiration and proving ground for some of their range, but there's a place for all of it in the European market.
For example, the RoadShower is just as useful for washing dirty bikes as it is for washing off salty humans, and the LockNLoad platforms are great for carrying heavy loads and as a base for useful accessories, especially on pickups, SUVs and 4x4s and - let's be honest - looking cool while doing so!
